About us 

INTRODUCTION

The Jharkhand State Tribal Cooperative Development Corporation Ltd., an undertaking of Govt. of Jharkhand is functional in the State under Department of Welfare. It aims to work for financial status upgradation and ensure overall development of the people belonging to socially deprived group viz. Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Minority Communities and Physically Handicapped persons. It is also working as State Channelizing Agency for Govt. of India supported National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC)/ National Backward Class Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC)/ National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation(NMDFC)/ National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC). Apart from these, Corporation is also effectively implementing Central as well as State supported Scholarship Schemes for the students belonging to Minority/ Scheduled Tribe / Scheduled Caste/ Backward class.

JSTCDC: AN OVERVIEW

The Corporation comes into existence in the year 1969 in unified Bihar. In the year 2001, after bifurcation of the State, it was undertaken by the Govt. of Jharkhand (vide its notification No. 94, dated 17.01.2001) with the nomenclature “Jharkhand State Tribal Cooperative Development Corporation Ltd.” registered under the Bihar and Orissa Co-operative Societies Act. 1935. Its registered office is at Ranchi, which is headed by the Managing Director nominated by Govt.of Jharkhand.

The Corporation is a Govt. of Jharkhand undertaking having Authorised Share Capital of Rs.2500.00 Lakh and Paid-up Share Capital of Rs.1915.21 lakh as on 31st March 2012.

The corporation is functional in the State focusing on the upliftment of tribal population by providing them means of self-employment. Apart from the State Head Office, it is having its branches in all Divisions namely, Ranchi, Hazaribag, Daltonganj, Chaibasa and Dumka with the purpose to cater the need of the people in the locality. OBJECTIVES OF THE CORPORATION

  1. To supervise, assist, provide technical guidance and to develop the business of Forest Labour Co-operative Societies, Multipurpose Cooperative Societies functioning for the benefits of tribal people and to control, co-ordinate and consolidate their activities;
  2. To enter into all kinds of contracts and transactions relating major and minor forest produce with a view to gradual elimination of middlemen and thus ensure their fair wages and fair share of profits to tribal workers;
  3. To purchase agricultural produce and market such produce to the best advantage;
  4. To undertake the distribution of supplies and make such bulk purchases as may be necessary for this purpose;
  5. To undertake the processing and grading of agricultural and forest produce and other commodities and to set up manufacturing and processing units;
  6. To raise loans and accept deposits;
  7. To arrange for and provide such credits as may be required;
  8. To take up the management of any Co-operative Society;
  9. To acquire and hold shares in any Co-operative Society;
  10. To provide facilities for training in Co-operative Organisations and to grant such facilities, scholarships and awards for research or other purposes as would directly or indirectly help the Co-operative movement among tribal people in general;
  11. To undertake development work relating to tribals;
  12. Generally to undertake such other business and do such  other things as are incidental and conductive to the promotion and attainment of the above objects.
